The new security checkpoint has opened at Arlanda Airport.

The new security checkpoint has opened at Arlanda Airport. The airport aims to provide travelers with a smoother and faster journey. Here’s what you need to know if you’re traveling:

Similar to other airports, Arlanda has introduced a new security checkpoint equipped with modern technology. This billion-dollar investment is expected to streamline the travel process and reduce waiting times at the security checkpoint.

New rules in the security checkpoint:
As a traveler, you no longer need to unpack electronics and liquids from your carry-on baggage. Liquids do not need to be placed in a separate plastic bag. You simply need to place your bag in the tray on the conveyor belt.

However, it is still important to empty your pockets and remove both your jacket and belt.

Important: Different rules for each terminal
Currently, only Terminal 5 has the new security checkpoint. Therefore, Arlanda advises passengers to pay attention to their departure terminal as the rules may vary depending on the security checkpoint they need to pass through.

Information about the specific security checkpoint you will be using can be found on Arlanda’s website or at the airport.

Carry-on liquid restrictions:
Previously, passengers were allowed to carry up to 100 milliliters of liquid per container in their carry-on baggage. The liquids had to fit into a plastic bag. With the new security checkpoint, these rules have been relaxed, and the exact regulations are unclear.

Robert Pletzin, spokesperson for Arlanda, told Expressen that there is currently no specific limit on the amount of liquid passengers can bring. However, he suggests following the previously established rules as a guideline.
