He directed a long series of famous series such as “Will & Grace”, “Third globe from the sun”, “Friends” and “The big bang theory”. He was also one of the creators of the TV series “Skål”.
“For more than five decades, Burrows was one of the most influential and beloved directors in television history. As a legendary director, mentor and creative force, he helped shape several generations of comedies and brought immeasurable joy to audiences around the world,” his family wrote in a statement to People magazine.
Burrows has won eleven Emmy Awards and in 2014 received an Honorary Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Directors Guild of America.
James Burrows turned 85.
